This is a Weekend of Care for the Caregivers of Complex Kiddos

The weight of the caregiver can be overwhelming at times. We are humbled to be called to this special role, yet it is challenging! We love our children, and also the emotional exhaustion takes a toll.  Or maybe you're finally in  a good spot and need some time to take inventory and get a second (or thirty-scond) wind? I have a great weekend planned to revive your soul, reconnect and re-align!

August 14th - 1:00pm Arrival

Arrive at the farmhouse and get settled. We'll start shortly. Here's the agenda for the day:

  • Afternoon tea and fellowship (introductions)
  • Workshop - Goals, Coping Skills & Beliefs
  • Break
  • Workshop - 3 Kinds of Business, Past / Present / Future
  • Healthy Dinner
  • Workshop - Perspective, Gratitude
  • Walk, Quiet Time, Sauna
  • Brief Spiritual Discussion, Prayer, Fellowship

August 15th - 8:00am - 9:00 pm

A full day of learning, moving, fellowship, and growth.

  • Morning Coffee/Tea & Devotional
  • Country Walk, Fellowship, or Stretching Class (outside if good weather)
  • Healthy Brunch, Break
  • Workshop - Natural Solutions for Anxiety & Depression
  • Workshop - The Work of Byron Katie
  • Break: Tea & Fellowship
  • Workshop - Stress, Relationships and Forgiveness
  • Workshop - Healing the Heavy, Burdens of Caregiving
  • Craft or Creative Free Time

  • Prayer, Discussion & Fellowship

August 16th - 8:00am - 2:00 pm

  • Morning Coffee/Tea & Devotional
  • Country Walk, Fellowship, or Stretching Class (outside if good weather)

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "SPIRITUALLY FILLED?"

The retreat organizers feel that faith is integral to one's journey, and that those with faith walk this journey very differently than those that don't - this is obvious. This is why, for this particular gathering, we will be doing so from a Biblical Christian lens. We have other secular events, so don't worry if that is not your jam - but for this event, TLC for Caregivers, we will be taking a non-denominational Biblical World View approach.

OVERNIGHT OPTION

The Farmhouse has 10 beds available. Some rooms will be shared rooms with single and full beds, while others are individual rooms.. There are 5 bathrooms in the house. Bedding and towels are provided. Retreat guests will need to bring toiletries.

DAY-VISITOR OPTIONS

Local retreat attendies may come for daily workshops and meals and leave in the evenings. There is plenty of parking.

WHAT TO BRING

Two meals will be provided every day and various teas, coffees and of course water will be available. Bedding for overnight guests is provided. We suggest you pack:

  • Snacks or special diet food as desired (there is room to store in fridge as well)
  • Exercise wear and comfortable shoes
  • Layers (temps fluctuate inside and outside the farmhouse)
  • Anything you are particular about - your own pillow, shampoo, etc.
  • Water bottle
  • A Bible (version is your choice)
  • A journal (worksheets and handouts will be provided but if you're a writer, bring what you love to write with and on.
  • Hat / sunscreen / sunglasses
  • Swimsuit and beach towel for the sauna (if desired)
  • Any medications / comfort items
  • Comfortable clothes - this is a sweats-and-slippers friendly event! Dress as you feel most comfortable; this is a retreat.
  • If you want to spend time with the sheep and/or chickens you will need an extra pair of SHOES that can slip on and off and be kept outside (these will get farm-y if you know what we mean).

PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Of course we understand that some who need a weekend like this most, are often burdened by things that prevent them from attending. We also believe that people get more value when they have something invested in their growth.

We offer a very limited number of partial scholarships for those in need. Please  EMAIL US if finances are preventing you from attending.
